From a slowly clouding sky this morning to a sundrenched Sunday afternoon, I look out my window and simply smile as the wind rustles the leaves in the big Oaks adjacent to our beautiful over 55 development!!! I haven't had much time over the last few days to keep up with what I usually provide in Posts and Responses... Please accept my apologies if I haven't responded to many of your Posts...
It is now mid-afternoon and I now share with you a wonderful old song by the "Doors"! Somewhere in the Midwest there are a potpourri of serious storms and to that theme, the "Doors" came to mind...
The Doors were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, and drummer John Densmore.)
Their genres: Psychedelic rock, Blues rock, Acid rock, but his is one of their milder songs...

Background on "Riders On The Storm"
"Robby Krieger said, that this song was inspired by the song "(Ghost) Riders in the Sky: A Cowboy Legend" by Stan Jones. Jim Morrison mentioned once in an interview that Billy Cook murders were inspiration for the song's lyrics. Cook killed six people while hitchhiking to California. Morrison even wrote a screenplay "The Hitchhiker (An American Pastoral)" about a hitchhiker who goes on a murder spree.
The echo effect on this song was created by Jim Morrison who recorded his main vocals and then whispered the lyrics over them. The effect of rain was created by Ray Manzarek playing the Fender Rhodes electric piano. Manzarek told Uncut magazine in September 2011 about the whispered voice, "If you listen closely, a whispered overdub that Jim adds beneath his vocal. That's the last thing he ever did. An ephemeral, whispered overdub."
