Is Russia really the issue? How about Western Europe stand up against Russia instead of financing the Russian economy. As for what am I going to do. I’m going to smoke some brisket and drink some Shiner. We don’t have any Russians here in South Texas. But if we did- 3 S’s.

SGT (Join to see) - We have saved their nuts in both world wars. Why wouldn't they wish to do so? We are protecting them FROM the Russians to this very day. Why would anyone purchase from a country who wishes to conquer them?

CPT,
I am not pro Russian. I am pro America not fight Russia in their back yard. What is in Russian national interest?
They are a Regional power. How many Ukrainians see themselves as Russian? 50%? 30%? Will those that see and desire Russia to annex eastern Ukraine help them?
I wonder who stated that crap in Keiv during the winter Olympics? Putin waited calmly for two months. Then, 20,000 armed troops showed up at the border using notes to carry messages. No traffic. Pretty smart don't you think?
Should the American southern border be in our national interest? Perhpas, we should make trade with Ukraine and leave Russia's southern border alone.
Just my 2cts CPT.

I understand your point perfectly, but we cannot ignore naked aggression of this nature. There are times that we need to fight them there versus here. Unlike WWII when the Axis really couldn't project power, Russia and China can. If we give a pass to the RR, the PRC will be at our doors in the next evolution.

I applaud your aggressive stance for America CPT.
Would there have been naked aggression had someone not tried to move the Ukraine away from Russia? Would the Ukraine still have what they took control of in the 50's if Russia was not threatened?
Is it against the law for us to be in a county supporting its government enemies. Even if that country's government is considered nefarious? Is it in our national interest, or is it part of a global agenda?
I don't know. No one tells a Cpl anything. But Russia and the US has common interests. IMO, we should be working on those.
Have a good night CPT.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - I agree completely. The PRC is the real enemy. Now if we could just stop Putin's d*ck waving we would be onto something. Don't forget the political office in the CIA Special Activities Division.

In response to the article, I think that Putin's forces would run into real trouble over the long term if he moves outside of areas with a substantial, sympathetic element to the local population.

Nothing like ruthless overwhelming force to convince a populace to cooperate.
