Sounds good but there's always the question of tactics. The tank has often been employed by the Soviets/Russians without infantry support. Civilians fought them successfully in urban battles in Hungary and Czechoslovakia because of this error. Are they still employing tanks this way? Then there's the issue of training. Are they going to employ simulators to sharpen crew skills.

CPT Jack Durish
LTC Greg Henning - Yeah, but... I remember during my Infantry training, we began learning how to destroy armor with everything from tank traps to missiles. By the time we were done, we didn't want to go anywhere near a tank. Then we learned about armor in support of Infantry. Our first lesson came sitting in the gunners seat of a tank and engaging a target moving across the range using the coax gun. I destroyed it easily. When I climbed out I paused to think. If I could do that well with just a few minutes instruction on how to aim and fire, imagine how well someone with months of training and experience could do. It was very sobering.

Great post; I'd like to read more about this tank as information becomes available. With the little information available right now, I'd put my money on the TOW2B or the Javelin. I remember seeing the training video on the Javelin......it blasted a soviet tank (T-72?) down to the tracks.
As far as how the M1 series Tank would do, it's hard to compare equipment capability without more info on the Armata, but to echo CPT Durish, tactics and crew capability will always play a large part in any tank vs tank contest. Someone once said (I'm paraphrasing of course) " the best tank is the one with the best crew".
During WWII, our M4 Sherman was no match to the German Tiger. In that scenario, tank vs tank the Sherman would almost always lose. It was the employment of tactical maneuver, numbers and great courage that US Tankers employed to defeat the formidable Tiger.
