Considering the history and multiple reports of Russian intervention and persistence in destabilizing other countries democratic processes, why is it so far-fetched that it was and would not be tried on America? Have we our heads in the clouds or just in a state of denial? We should be, at the very least, open to such a notion. Have we as a nation forgotten where Putin comes from within the bowels of modern day Russia/the former USSR or that Russia is NOT our friend in a geo-political sense?

The problem isn't the Russians. Of COURSE they are trying to hack us. Them and everyone else who can. The problem is our passivity. China STEALS US Steel trade secrets worth billions? Ok. No biggie. No repercussions. We don't treat cyber intrusions as the act of war that they are, in fact. And until we do, we will lose shit to everone that can hack us.
