The people in Crimea think of themselves as Russians and many are married to Russians. The same goes for those people living in Eastern Ukraine. The US made an agreement to allow East Germany re-unit with West Germany. The US is violating that promise. Putin appears to me concentrating on trying to improve the welfare of the Russian people after a hundred some years of hardship.
We in the US are in an ideological war on science. Over population is the biggest problem and we must ETHICALLY reduce it.
We live in a dynastic oligarchy made up of some 47 super rich kings and some 130 billionaire princes who rule for the most part and own the main stream news media.

Last month, the World Meteorological Organization projected a 40 percent chance that Earth will cross the 1.5-degree threshold for at least one year by 2026.” In other words, nearly every idea floated by governments to address climate disruption is woefully insufficient and out of date. “Current levels of adaptation will be inadequate to respond to future climate risks,” reads the IPCC report. Billions face the threat of coastal destruction, drought, famine, fire and plague.
