Thank you my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for making us aware that Belgium’s defense online magazine, Army Recognition, has reported that Russian Airborne forces have formally contracted with the Consortium INTRALL and UAMZ Group to provide the Toros 4x4 armored vehicle.
Toros can be dropped from various military transport aircraft with special paratroopers platform. Once on the ground, it will provide airborne troops with fire support, reconnaissance and cargo capabilities. It can also be armed with a sole machine gun or an automatic grenade launcher.
Based on a BTR-60 chassis, the Toros can accommodate a crew of eight soldiers and a crew of two. The Toros has a length of 5.125 m, a width of 2.447 m and a height of 2.365 m.
The combat weight of the 4×4 Toros is 6.8 tonnes, although the weight can fluctuate depending on the weapon fit and armour package.
The vehicle is fitted with a a 4.7-liter turbodiesel of Minsk Motor Plant with an output of 136 hp and 460 Nm of torque (at 2200 rev/min). Transmission is a five-speed automatic. It provides a maximum road speed of 85 km/h and an operational road range of 1,000 km."

It only puts out a hundred and thirty-six horsepower from 4.7 L turbo diesel? You would think that something this big this is a 287 or 289 cubic inch engine. Any reason why the low horsepower or just crappy design?
