We, as a country, have to decide whether we are a nation of laws or we are a only that when its convenient. An elected official can't say we won't follow immigration law, but by god, you'll follow other laws.

LTC (Join to see) - No, my view was formed when an illegal alien killed my brother. After that, any and all illegal, er, undocumented, aliens need to be deported. I realize thats a very 'simplistic' view, but then again I remember watching my brother die and the Fire Department washing his blood over to the gutter.
So again, I bow to your 'enlightened view' and I hope that you never lose a family member because of the actions of someone who entered this country illegally.

LTC Trent Klug - Again, you are biased, and your view on the matter simplistic.
The vast majority of undocumented immigrants are hard-working people who pay taxes, feed their children and obey all laws except for that time they snuck across the border to flee violence and poverty.
Native born US citizens commit more crimes per capita. Very sorry about your brother, but not willing to let millions of US citizen children and spouses of undocumented immigrants suffer having their families ripped apart so you can have your right-wing hardline policy.

LTC (Join to see) - People make choices every day. Some good. Some bad.
I'm surprised that you would be okay with some folks bypassing the line others are patiently standing in. How do you explain that to them? Is it "sorry, I know you did it properly, but because he/she entered illegally, they get preferential treatment and you still get to wait"?

LTC Trent Klug - I've explained (and yOu've ignored) the law many times. There is NO LINE for the spouse of a US citizen, or the parent of an adult US citizen. No line at all. It is only siblings and adult children who have a line.
So, the undocumented spouse of a US citizen isn't jumping in front of anyone. There are no quotas or limits. Every spouse of a US citizen has a visa immediately available. It is ONLY the event creation of departure followed a ten year bar to return that prevents roughly 9,000,000 people from adjusting status tomorrow. Those are the ones with no criminal history, who work every day, and who are the spouses of US citizens and parents of US citizens aged 21 or older.
You don't care though, you'd rather have your fit-wing talking points.

The other side of that coin, is telling those same folks, who are paying taxes, that they have to be a "Sanctuary City" It is a hot, very hot stove item.

Yes, the President Elect is going to have to set an example here. I don't think it will involve sending in the troops but more than likely he will send in Federal Agents and need to threaten indictment of at least one Mayor via the Attorney General.
