Had he done better in New York and New Jersey, where they know him the best, maybe he could have won the popular vote too.

Granted, but at the end of the day he knew he needed to break the "blue wall" and garner electoral college votes in states Hillary took for granted before the popular votes.

The popular vote will be overwhelming if Trump delivers on his promises and the economy improves. Yes, there always will be those who will hate him. Hate is far stronger than reason.
