Oh, brother. Disneyland has jumped the shark with this. The ride is called PIRATES of the Caribbean, not Gentlemen of the Caribbean.

Disney is so detail oriented, they pump fragrances in different parts of the parks different times of the year. Every single ride is made with great detail, down to the embroidery on Ariel's wedding dress. They've been updating rides since forever, and this is an odd thing to be upset about.

I don’t think anyone here is upset about it—just the blogger in the article. It’s just sad to see Disney pandering to the lowest common PC denominator.

If this person is uncomfortable with a ride at Disneyland, then I can recommend a good shrink. I can only imagine the trauma he/she must have experienced when Bambi’s mom was shot.
As to what little girls think about it? Probably nothing.

MAJ Don Bigger As a former little girl and a former frequent visitor of Disneyland, I think people go to Disneyland because they like to be happy. Little girls should have a few years before they learn about how women are viewed in the world. As stated before, there are so many more tiny details that Disney Imagineers™ pour their creativity into. It's silly to be hung up on what you see as "PC" when that's Disney's entire business model. My last word on the matter is, if a large business makes any changes, it's to pander to the majority of its customers because a business has the goal of making money. If Disney updating their parks to appeal to the decency of parents annoys you, then you are in the minority.
