I tried enlisting in the Navy to join the "Brown Water Navy". It seemed the best option for me inasmuch as I had grown up on "Brown Water" (the Chesapeake Bay) and was a Coast Guard licensed pilot. Sadly, the Navy screwed around with my application for about 9 months and I enlisted in the Army for Infantry OCS instead.
