SecDef Hagel's parting ethics advice to brass: Do better

Good article, SGT Jim Z.. Thanks for sharing it. I think Secretary Hagel was an honest man who had a very tough job. And then on top of the crises around the world that he had to address as SecDef, he had to figure out how to deal with all the scandals addressed in the article. I like that he's not giving his successor a prescription regarding how to fix the problem. Instead, he's diagnosing the problem, identifying it -- and he's already appointed an investigating officer to look into these issues. This quote is particularly good:

"'His last message out the door was not going to be a prescription,' Hendrix said. 'He's giving a diagnosis to his successors, advice to Ash Carter.'"

Hagel should have taken his own advice. Just another bureaucrat who didn't give a rat's ass about the little people. The entire OSD has no integrity IMO and it starts at the top.
