I will be giving them a look. I find our atomic history interesting. Anyone else heard that they did a test at the Salton Sea in CA back in the 50's?

PFC Roger Goff Hadn't Heard of that one but Wouldn't Surprise Me. The Navy has made good use of the Desert in California for Years for a lot of R&D.

I don't think the salt to the Sea would have been a perfect place for it but Nellis Air Force Base was were almost all the tests were done stateside

Further research on my part reveals that the salton sea naval base was home to among other things full size mock ups of the fat man device dropped there in tests. But no confirmation on the rumored live nuke test there yet.
