These first hand accounts are the best. I wish I spent more time when I was younger talking to WW2 veterans. We had several teachers who were in the war and they never spoke of their experiences. I too had WW2 vet teachers and a couple Viet Nam people, they never talked about it. I learned more from them after a Legion meeting, when everyone had a couple of belts. Dammed interesting and time to keep the mouth closed and let the history lesson go on.
