Sad state of affairs. Saw an excellent YouTube video that showed just how bad and perhaps why. The gist is that Satan, in his Moloch persona, loves killing innocents.

I hear what you are saying, and get your point. But...Nebraska is actually fairly tough.
Conviction for a misdemeanor gets you 15 years of registration.
Below is what is going on there (and quite frankly, there is more to this than “just registering”).
The worst criminals in the world are those who steal the innocence of a child.

Nebraska
Sex Offender Registration Requirements:
Register at the State Patrol Troop Area Office within 3 days of arrival.
• TroopA th 4411 South 108 Omaha, NE [login to see]
• TroopD
300 W. South River Road North Platte, NE [login to see]
• Troop E 4500 I Ave
Scottsbluff, NE [login to see]
To assist in finding locations, maps are available on the State Patrol website, https://sor.nebraska.gov/Home/Info. Please call and schedule an appointment to report.
Offender must have a copy of police reports and related court documents upon reporting. This information is used to determine registration duration of either15 years, 25 years, or lifetime.
• 15 years: Convicted of a registrable offense not punishable by imprisonment for more than 1 year.
• 25 years: Convicted of a registrable offense punishable by imprisonment for more than 1 year.
• Lifetime: Convicted of a registrable offense punishable by imprisonment for more than 1 year and was convicted of an aggravated offense or has had a prior registrable offense or enters Nebraska and is required to register for Life by another state.
Nebraska may require registration even if the sending state does not. This will depend on conviction and will be determined by the Nebraska State Patrol.
For additional regulations, for example regarding residence changes, please refer to the Nebraska State Patrol Website, which is listed on the Nebraska directory page under “Web sites” “Sex Offender Registry”.
Sex Offender Special Conditions:
Probation: Sex Offenders will be placed on a high risk caseload and may be required to complete the following core requirement; home visits, sex offender treatment, cognitive programming, internet monitor, plus other special conditions determined during investigation.
Parole: Sex Offenders are placed on electronic monitoring with special conditions applicable for their offense and potential victims. Offenders are responsible for the cost of electronic monitoring. Electronic monitoring for registered sex offenders will be evaluated on a regular basis. If an individual, after being assessed, demonstrates long-term stability and a low risk to reoffend a request for removal of electronic monitoring may be recommended. Sex Offenders may also be limited in their computer access and not allowed to live near schools or other locations where children frequent.
• Troop B
1401 Eisenhower Ave Norfolk, NE [login to see]
• Troop C
3431 Old Potash Highway Grand Island, NE [login to see]
• Sex Offender Registry Office th
Street

Sgt (Join to see) no worries.
Sex offender requirements vary with every single state and territory, which is why the Adam Walsh Act was passed, to bring all states to a common area. And to allow for Federal Prosecution to take place in cases where offenders fail to comply.
