That is BS. Parents speak for minors...PERIOD. That person that beat this child would want to turn themselves in after I got up with them. Something about a dark room and a rubber garden hose!!!! Try to beat on someone your own size...at least they have a fighting chance. Can't believe Oregon is that dang primitive.

Not just Oregon. My son is a non verbal Autistic and was mentally and physically abused at school by aides whenever the teacher was out of the room. The best I could get was to have the aides reassigned. They still work with children. This was California. My son is terrified of vacuum cleaners. The aides would put one right behind his chair while he was pushed up to a table. He would howl in terror but would not move his chair. We found out when the bus driver overheard two aides laughing about it. But her testimony was hearsay and my son does not carry on conversations, he just parrots.

This sort of "law" is why sane people sometimes do insane things like hanging a babysitter upside down in their basement and taking batting practice on them.
