Beretta did that too for the M-92, and it was a gold mine to the company...Guess Sig wants to take advantage of that popularity in the civilian market that Barrett got so rich off of!

Colt did it with both the M1911 and with the SAA too. It's a long tradition for firearms manufacturers to bank on the civilian sales of their military pistols.

TSgt Larry Johnson - When I was the county Sheriff I carried a Barretta Model 96 in .40 S&W. But the State troopers were all carrying Sigs in 40 S&W.
