Since the end of the draft, nothing in warfare seems to touch the heart of Americans.

Wartime or not, there are a number of benefits to the draft. I was drafted and though I didn't elect it, that time I spent in the military was good for me long term. Hopefully my performance was good for the nation as well

Vietnam ended so did the draft,the draft proved to many of the unfair and unequal proportion of lower middle class and poor without the advantages of monetary and political power who shouldered the burden of the war,from that point on the majority people did not see Military Service as a viable option for their sons and now daughters,sad commentary but true

I was drafted in 1969. Bring it back and watch the protests, the whining crying snowflakes head for Canada, College and the Doctors (bad back, bad knees, bad character) Fact is the Military doesn’t want that type anyway, way too much time spent. Let them go take the ones that show up. The Army is probably having a hard time getting and keeping people. The draft might come back.
