My impression on Snowden is that he is a grand wanna-be, and that he has been a grand failure at everything in life he has ever tried to do. He failed at high school, he failed in the Army, he failed at the State Department, at the CIA, at the NSA, and if it was not for his ability to completely bullshit his way through the interview process he would have never had been able to get any government job.

Snowden was "recruited" as a spy due to his profound failures in life, and while he is hoisted up as a hero in the liberal media, he still remains a legend in his own mind, and a fictional hero, who needs to come back to the United States so he can be tried, convicted and then lawfully executed.

One of the wrinkles is the number of his family members who are still employed by the federal government, and how they have succeeded while Edward has been nothing more than an embarrassment to his family.

For me, I personally and professionally believe he is a traitor. Him sneaking off to another country and ultimately winding up in Russia (of all places) takes any legit arguments he may have had off of the table for negotiations. Had he stayed within our borders and say leaked the info to a major newspaper or two and started the ensuing conversation, I would not necessarily call him a hero, but would applaud his efforts. He and Assange have/had an agenda which did not have the interest of the American people in mind and for this, I hope he has a long term plan to stay in Russia and never be able to set foot on American soil again except in shackles.
