Somehow intellectual…

When people profess atheism, never be intimidated by the thought that they are somehow intellectual. They are not. The Bible says that such a person is a fool (see Psa. 14:1; Rom. 1:22). So, make sure that you move from the intellect (the place of argument; see Rom. 8:7) to the conscience (the place of the knowledge of right and wrong; see Rom. 1:14). This is what Jesus and Paul did, as well as others (see Mark 10:17–22; Rom. 2:19–24).

David writes in Ps 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
Keep on contending for the faith my friend for that is what we are commanded to do.
