S.I.Hayakawa (professor of semantics, author of Language in Thought and Action, and U.S. Senator from California) wrote that there was no magic in words. Boy, was he ever wrong. Just look at the world of political correctness (the manifestation of Orwell's "newspeak") Yes, it matters whether we call them "illegal alien" or "[whatever] immigrant". We are a nation of immigrants. The word "immigrant" tugs at our heartstrings. It conjures images of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the "teeming masses" (our family). Those sneaking into our nation are not immigrants and do not deserve the cache that comes with "immigrant".

Yes it does.
It properly refers to them for what they are.
Another term that would fit is "Foreign Invaders"
Calling them "Undocumented Immigrants" is akin to calling drug dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
