Lt Col (Join to see) - This is an excellent resource and can save a person a lot of researching and searching the web. Checked out TX benefits and found some I didn't know anything about. TX only has property taxes but many jurisdictions, cities, counties, and some school districts provide exemptions for property owners, people over 65. Check with your local property appraisal district on-line, as they know about all the various exemptions and what you are entitled to.

Because of my disability status, I have tax exemptions on some property and vehicles in South Carolina. Each state has their veteran benefits and veteran resource officers exist in most counties. Great question! We been to get them all on RP!

COL Lorraine - I got a call from the Kentucky (KVDA) General Counsel telling me I could no longer call my local rep or Regional Admin. Is that legal? (Anyone!) He won't contact them for me because he says I have no Power of Atty (POA) with them. Well. I haven't for 5 years, through 2 claim denials, one appeal denial and my NOD was denied in only 6 months. It has never come up. So now I am completing the VA 21-22 to appoint my Regional Admin as my representative. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer from exposure to radiation from 6 years of working on the HAWK Missile System. First denial said Navy showed no exposure, 2cd denial said Air force showed no exposure. I was ARMY all 6 years. I think I am screwed.... Going to the BVA.
