MAJ (Join to see) What are your thoughts? Is S.A. contributing to State sponsored terrorism like Iran and Syria? I'm not sure we can say one is worse than the other if their actions are comparable. The way that their leadership expresses itself is also a factor to consider. Recent news articles would indicate that Iran is on the move to become a more formidible force in the ME and form it's own coalition (axis). Is this a greater threat than the one S.A. has already formed? Is S.A. in fear that they will become less favored?

KSA doesn't directly contribute to terrorism in the way that Iran does. They have imprisoned 1000s of AQ, Da'esh, and other terrorists. They attempt to reeducate them. The government of KSA is the #1 enemy of AQ and Da'esh and actively fights against them on every level.

There is certainly some financing coming from individuals in KSA (and the USA), but they are prosecuted when caught.

The biggest role is probably that KSA has promulgated Wahhabist teaching in all of the mosques they've built around the world. And it is a bastardized, extremist form of Wahhabism that fuels the Sunni terrorist groups.

I don't think that we can isolate one part of the Middle East from another and ascribe different indexes of threats to each. It would be like arranging the states of the United States in some ranking of threat to the nation. Yes, I'm sure it would be easy for ideologues on the Right to point to states on either Coast and say that they are threats, while ideologues on the Left would same the same about fly-over country (especially Texas). However, the various tribes of the Arabian Peninsula and, yes, even those who call themselves Persians, are inextricably bound together in a march towards a common destiny. Like the United States, they are their own greatest enemy. Vis-a-vis the world, it seems that Islam has set itself against the world and the world is divided into two halves: Those willing to accept the challenge and those who shrink from it.
