Study: The economic penalty Vietnam veterans and their kids pay

This article sheds some light on the draft from an economics point of view. It should be noted that the draft during Vietnam was not equally applied. Many people got deferments and didn't do anything to bear the burden of the war. There was no requirement for an equivalent community service program.
