Had a PSD PL that took us on a convoy in Iraq to go recover a vic hit by an IED. We were on the way back to the FOB and all of the sudden we were crossing a bridge over the Tigris river. My TC called up and said "Sir we're going the wrong way" Lt replied with no we're not. PSD PSG got on radio and asked LT "what fu@kin river did we cross when we left the FOB". Needless to say PSG took point and Lt became FOBBIT for the rest of deployment.

SGT John " Mac " McConnell - They kinda get a raw deal. Sometimes I think everybody has to remember that they're the private of the officer world. The need as much if not more mentoring than privates from NCO's. They honestly have only been in about as long as a PFC and are as green as the grass even though they are looked to for leadership. But when it comes to navigation some people just don't get it and never will, like you said it happens more than we know.

I meet a few that made you wonder who dressed them in the morning, and a few that were worth there weight in gold.
