So the failure to apply and enforce the laws in place means that we need more laws that only affect the law abiding citizen that rightfully owns firearms and will comply with the laws (though maybe resentfully)? Even if we take every precaution with our weapons, it is our rights that are limited, because the "outlaw" will never consider the law. Rest in peace officers, we will still hold the line.

LT Michael Watson yes, more laws make existing laws more effective--on those who have anything of value to lose, e.g., personal freedom, family, a career. Thugs have nothing to live for but the moment. Both share one thing in common, however: the primal need for self-defense, an instinct that cannot be legislated away--though many have tried and even succeeded (Hitler, Mao, Castro, Stalin, Pol Pot, Saddam, ad nauseum).

PO2 Al Mcdonald someone made the point that government fears a responsibly-armed citizenry more than they do a few armed criminals. I can see why this might be true.

SFC George Smith sorry, remember this is CA. He'll enjoy special status even if sent to Non-Death Row. He will most likely die from natural causes while the CA taxpayers fund all of his useless appeals. The Q for this young man
