This could be the writing on the wall just like it was in early 1941 for the United States prior to mobilizing all its Reserve and National Guard for a '1 year' activation. We need to be prepared. Recently, one active-duty officer was debating me on RP putting down the Reserve Component and bashing quality of Reserve Officers. We should be working together and having a strong defense instead of being biased.

Something we need to investigate IMO. You want that Pell Grant & Federally Subsidized Student Loans? Mandatory two year stint in the Military... plus 10 years in the Inactive Reserve. We'd save millions & millions in unpaid student loans.

When the next war comes, it will come fast and without warning. Indeed, it may be argued that it's already here. Training and organizing Americans to defend the homeland and handle emergencies, while the all-volunteer active duty military projects force, may not be such a bad idea.
