There are so many moving parts to what is going on in Syria it is easy to get confused with so many different groups involved. This video explains who the different groups are and how they are alligned.
Syria’s civil war began in 2011 as a conflict between the al-Assad’s government and the rebels fighting to overthrow him. Since then the region has been further destabilized by different groups all seemingly in opposition with each other and few alliances between themselves. My considered opinion? It's a big freaking mess. And I say leave it alone as much as possible.
I frankly don't care if they use poison gas on each other. It is not worth dead Americans.
