There's at least one Syrian who doesn't want refuge, who wants to remain in his own home. And he gave at least one CNN host an earful. Historically, refugees were those who sought to return home when they were forced into sanctuary. Yes, there are notable exceptions such as the Jews of Europe following WWII. They had a traditional home where they could build a new life. The Vietnamese and Cubans refugees who came to America always had the intent to return to their homeland, but their children born and bred in America became Americans. This is their home now. And they had some exposure to Western Culture that helped them assimilate. The Syrians would be far better served seeking sanctuary in the Middle East but nations there such as Saudi Arabia refuse them. What's up with that? Thus, what this refugee makes sense. Help them remain in their homes. Secure safe zones for them in their own homeland. Isn't this more in keeping with America's vital interests rather than shipping them into our land, an alien land where the best they can hope for is to become wards of the state, a people without a purpose or a home?
