It is hairy, but what do they do- World see Taiwan pretty much as a sovereign nation and China's gov't refuses to believe it. If they laydown and do nothing- the will be over run- If they stand up for themselves, then who knows how far it will go, T supposedly has nukes, China has nukes. Plus Taiwan knows if China takes over most of them that live will be in gulags.

sanctions against China and any nation who stands with them. i'm sure Taiwan has nukes but they will be very reluctant to use them. China won't be so reluctant. it is a very hairy situation, like you said.
