In 1949 millions of mainland Chinese arrived fleeing the Communists, Chiang Kai Shek set up his Kuo Min Tang. Taiwan had just survived over 50 years of Japanese occupation. Chiang kept his government intact meaning Taiwain got one vote among hundreds. One can only estimate the billions in gold the rich chinese brought with them. Mao and Chiang are dead and so is communism. The rich who Mao would have re-educated, have gone back to the mainland. What's left is Taiwan
