This article says nothing about President Trump. So the only relevant comment I can make to you is that your comment is a non-sequitur.

SPC David Willis - How much do you think Nugent and President Trump hangout? Before, or since the Inauguration? I have no idea, but it probably isn't much. If you have some factual data, that is not drawn from hyperbole, please let me know.
I defend President Trump because it is time quit the nonsense. We're so busy poking each other in the eye that we've all become blind. It does nothing to heal the nation. A congressional lunch room where political opponents hate each other and cannot sit down and eat lunch in the lunch room or go out have a beer together, is not acceptable. That is not an environment conducive to compromise and achieving the people's business.
When the President Obama picture with Farrakhan picture hit RP I DEFENDED President Obama. ANY president who attempts to do anything is going to meet and greet controversial figures. If you cannot meet with and be socially cordial with people with whom you disagree you do not belong in office.
Are you really going to tell me that in your entire life you have never made stupid an patently offensive, even in jest, and failed to apologize to those present at the time? And that no one in your social circle has ever, in your presence, uttered a patently offensive remark and failed to apologize to those present at the time, without rebuke from you, or without you cutting them off? That would place you in the roughly the same population density as unicorns and yeti's.
I'm not going to apologize for posting the picture of President Obama, it was a joke, intended from the start to end with a photo of President Obama and President Trump in a somewhat ironic and certainly untrue mimic of the President Trump and Mr. Nugent photo.
What I did not do, until I slipped off the track; and which I will apologize for is my one personal attack I made in this string. SPC John Smith I apologize for the personal jab "From the guy who uses skin color as a personal attack." I expect better of myself and fell short. At the same time, I will state that I was not the first of the three of us to make personal comments about the others.

Maj John Bell - I'm in no way asking or expecting you to apologize for your views as I would never do so for mine. Trump invited Nugent to the WH pretty soon after the inauguration, but no he's not a common visitor if that's what you're asking. Also I'm not expressly attacking Trump, but he does need to cut ties with people who advocate shooting an entire group of people based on their political believes. I also wont say I'm perfect, but many of my friends call me out on my bullshit and Ive called them out on theirs as well. I have also cut of what I had thought were solid friendships due to actual racist beliefs (not insinuating anything about anyone just my story). At the end of the day we all know the president will not shoot democrats, but if he truly does desire to be the president of the people (as he has stated a few times) and not just the right he needs to check who he associates himself with and the rhetoric they put out. If he doesn't want to be a president of everyone that's also his choice.

SPC David Willis - I wasn't apologizing for my views. I was apologizing for going personal on SPC Smith.
Mr. Nugent is a jackass firebrand. It probably gets him more attention nowadays than his music. But I have no doubt that he is no more serious in his hyperbole than Kathy Griffin or Johnny Depp.
I suspect that most politicians do a cost benefits analysis before they cut anyone off.

Maj John Bell - No apology needed, Maj. Bell. We are both adults that are capable of analysis and, I assume, not easily injured by the words of others. I will always vehemently oppose the guy living in the White house and I'm sure you will always keep your opinion and Ne'er the twain shall meet. My comments were simply to point out that the original post didn't say that Donny was in any way responsible for the comments of the washed up rocker, only that the washed up rocker and the bankruptcy master in the oval office are chummy.

SSgt Ray Stone In general, I identify with Ted's viewpoints on politics and citizen rights. I do, however, take issue with articles like this. This article is inflammatory and does absolutely nothing to foster the kind of interaction currently needed between the two sides of the political isle. At what point do we stop slashing each other and realize that only respectful discussion and meaningful actions will bridge the gap. Both sides are guilty of the same crimes against basic human decency in how they deal with each other. That said, I wish to reiterate that "BOTH" sides need to settle the extremists in their midst and come to the table for amenable discussion.

Maybe its not the article that's inflammatory, maybe its the fact that he said democrats need to be shot that's inflammatory... I totally agree both sides have their extremists, but I think Nugent is toeing that line right now.

SPC David Willis Your statement fails to accept that I said the very same thing. I referenced an article that was ABOUT Mr. Nugent, thereby subsuming his statements in my point. I am not , by any means, accepting his proposition that Americans should be "shot" just because they disagree with me. However, the right wing pundits and extremists are not the ones who have actually taken up arms to beat the opposition with weapons and actually shoot at and wound duly elected political representatives. That action was taken by liberals who generally claim to be the "tolerant" side of the isle. Aside from Charlotte VA. which was an all sides free for all with plenty of blame to go around all parties, it is antifa, who beat and attack their opposition with force while being propped up by our former "community organizer in chief" and his 20,000 workers in the opposition group he has built along with Mr. Soro's funding. While I am at it, our "former community organizer in chief" is the ONLY former President to remain in DC and actively oppose the new administration. Lets talk anti American now. Now, back to my original point. I oppose, and I believe it was stated so in my first post, what Mr. Nugent said. Please do not play symantic games with me in the future.

MSgt Stephen Council - Blaming the article is much different than blaming the subject of the article. How it reads (maybe not how its meant) is that the news is causing problems for reporting on what he said, not that what he said is a problem. Not a game. Also not sure why you wasted so much time typing about, I hate them too. Really not sure where the trend came from, but if my boss fired me for underperformance I wouldn't be able to defend my job by pointing out Carol in accounting is bad at her job too.

We've reached the point where whoever says the most outrageous thing makes the news. And no one believes any of it.
