LTC (Join to see), can't speak to anything Michael Moore has done, don't care for him or his agenda. Since PO1 Nagel doesn't like differing opinions and refuses to allow any discussion countering (not just disagreeing, but disproving) his opinion/positions, we'll have to approach it in in this manner. I hope for "common sense" legislation in both the US and Canada. That means staying out of areas it doesn't need to be involved in, for the purposes of this thread, healthcare.

"Like anything else you get what you pay for.", sorry, as usual Chip, you're wrong. All the ills of the world do not rest solely with one party ("resultant from several Conservative Administrations"), they are both equally guilty of mismanagement, corruption and downright stupidity at times. Here is one example from your side of the aisle when (then) Speaker Pelosi told us, "But we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it". Basically it is the effects of bureaucrats thinking they know better than the health care professionals that provide the services. Chip, did you allow the guy that sold gedunk in the ship's store to develop the INTSUM for you to brief to the Commander? Imagine how that would've played out.

The issue isn't about getting what you paid for, it is about government inefficiency / government overreach, how it is funded, over regulation, and who pays for what. And at what point did health care become punitive (penalties and fines for not having any)? The reality is, that regardless of how it is named, the government has no business in mandating healthcare as it did. Government inefficiency in healthcare (VA as the prime example) should be enough to prove that government needs to stay out of it.

That is a new Pelosi-speak. Pass the bill so we know what is in it. Look at the opposite what Former A-10 Squadron Commander Congresswoman McSally Said about her bill where the bill was specific. We know the afforable care act would need probably a one ton van to read all the volumes of paperwork but its no excuse to pass this without knowing what is in it. Now we will see if what is on paper works in practice and that it does devolve like it did in certain parts of Canada and in England.

Its like living in Montana. Only thing different here that everything here in English and French. Lately, its slowly turning more like California where I am from. We have Carl's Jr. now (Hadee's for those in the East and South) and recently they painted the cop cars black and white and that reminds me of living in California. We get PBS here too so I can see both Canadian and American news. State Farm insurance just got sold off and I came to Canada with State Farm. Its not too different except with quotes like ' what do you think about them oilers, eh?' and someone say things like 'you don't know fuck all (you don't know shit in Canadian)' My wife is Native and they are as rascist here to them as some blacks are targeted in the inner city. That is the only thing bad about Canada is the treat First Nations people badly here. That is why she married me since whites here are mean and most of her kind are her 2nd cousin LOL.
She loves going to the USA because they think she is Mexican descent and there is no rascism. LOL.
