He has a point. Titles are part of our ego ("we are what we do"). I've done it--most of us have. I wonder if there is a company uses less titles (but records the required ones for filing).

I liked the discussion around project managers. Makes a lot sense that companies would retain and train employees to be the most effective project managers possible. Tesla seems to really embrace this model with a very flat org structure.
