I am sure there are alot of RP members from Texas. I would like to ask for your support on H.B. 276 is currently in committee under review in Austin. This bill, if passed into law, will reduce the license plate requirement from two to a single rear mounted plate for registered Texas vehicles.
I have included the link to identify your state rep (just type in your zip) and I have provided a template to send voicing your support for the bill.

Dear Honorable Legislators,
I am writing to you today ask for your support to pass House Bill 276, which will reduce the number of license plates issued to registered Texas vehicles owners from two to one single plate. H.B. 276 would apply to all passenger cars used to accommodate 10 or fewer passengers and light trucks, including pickup trucks, panel delivery trucks, or carryall trucks that have a manufacturer's rated carrying capacity of 2,000 pounds or less.
It would protect the aesthetic contours of collector cars and relieve vehicle owners of the burden of having to create mounting holes on fabricated bumpers. An added benefit to this would save the state money, conserve resources and bring Texas in line with other states that have moved to a single plate requirement.
Please take this into consideration upon voting. A vote for reducing the issuance of license plates from two to a single plate can potentially free up some funds that can otherwise be devoted to other Texas infrastructure and/or social programs that better the quality of life for Texas residents. Michigan had considred returning to two plates.. I sent an idea via a rep that a 2”x1” sticker inside the lower left front window 1-1/2” out from edge and 2” inch up from bottom of window that way autos or other vehicles backed up to buildings can still have their number checked . That could work for Texas and other states. Some states that have only one tag on back requires vehicles to park front in.
