Is it possibly, just possibly, to see that Congress and their staff have a vested self interest in seeing that the VA health care system is up to desired standards and something that they would want to use for themselves? How many times have one or more of us bitched about Congress and their gold-plated health care system that is so much better than what they allocate for veterans? Every congressmen isn't a lying backstabbing SOB all of the time.

But they take an oath as well, unfortunately certain lifestyle differences are part of certain clases. The same as rank in the military, the higher the rank the mire pay, housing, security so on and so fourth.

As usual MSGT George Cater, you are spot on, IMO what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Maybe now, our healthcare might actually improve and the red tape decrease. (I owe you a thumbs up BTW)

True, All of them are not, just maybe 10% or +-5%. Look, I'm not a political expert nor do I care to be one, but I do care what they say, when they say, and why they said it. That's following what you preach.

It's just political grandstanding. This person isn't foolish enough to think it will pass, or even that it would be legal (being that most of Congress are not vets). But, when reelection comes around the Congress person can point to their irrelevant proposal that never even made it the floor and say, "I did something for vets".
It's not meant to pass, it's meant to bring some publicity to the proposal.

The motive is probably to have Congress receive the same medical care the rest of us do. It's a good populist idea, but having the VA provide care for people other than veterans is a non-starter.

That's the same feel I got from the article- btw, I wish I could give you a thumbs up, but I'm out for the day :( I think it's good in theory, but in reality it will never happen.

GySgt Melissa Gravila - SSgt Christopher Brose I would have thought otherwise until I went to Congressman Davidson's website to see what this was all about. He spent twelve years in the Army, is a West Pointer so you could well be right Christopher. He is also very pro second amendment.
