Korea may be the "Forgotten War" but some of us Old Farts remember it. I did not go to Korea but was at the Boston Navy Yard where guys who were wounded in Korea and from New England spent their final weeks at the Chelsea Naval Hospital and then onto the Boston Navy Yard for being processed out of the Navy and Marines. A few told me what Korea was like but most just said "It was tough"...and that was it. A few who were at the Chosin & said "Man I have never been so cold in my life " while I bitched about the cold in the Boston harbor where I guarded "Ole Ironsides" from 2400 hrs to 0400 hrs in the middle of winter. Finally I quit bitching about the cold when I learned these guys were in weather that was below zero for weeks and I only saw a few days like that.
