For good or ill, if it were to pass cannabis stocks are poised for real growth. Personally, I believe it should be decriminalized and regulated just like alcohol. As far as the brain dead goes, they already use it, so the decriminalization wouldn't alter the statistics over the long haul. There may be a spike from those who lied about it, but overall, that spike would normalize quickly.

Might come down to who has the deepest pockets. Big pharma or the growers.

I don't see an issue with it. From the logic that you gave, don't worry about everyone being stoned because everyone is already blacked out from being drunk. Hell, I can buy liquor at the gas station in these parts; surprisingly, I don't see drunk drivers every time I get on the road. I'm saying that sarcastically, because I realize that it is the minority of the population that create these issues.
Isn't it surprising that all of these states that have legalized are not in flames right now? I'd be more worried about alcohol or the drugs that are being prescribed to the population than marijuana. People who sit on the couch munching on Cheetos glued to the stupid box minding their own business don't concern me, nor do I think it should be others or the gov'ment's concern as well. I don't think the current laws on the books for cannabis are meant for our protection or our best interest. If that were the case, I point again to the fact that I can buy liquor at the gas station, which really blows my mind.
