I have to say that I think we've already calmed down considerably if the only items thrown were bracelets. In Pittsburg they throw squids, or at least used to. Years ago I read an article where a hockey player from a west coast team described his experiences regarding being hit by projectiles while playing. To paraphrase, he said "Things are bad enough but the closer you get to the east coast it gets worse, really bad. In the Midwest they throw aaa batteries, but in Philly they're throwing D cells."
I've never heard of a bracelet knocking a player to the ice, so I'd say things have calmed down considerably. Philly sports fans are a rough bunch, like many other fans in other cities. I guess we're just a bit more expressive when unhappy than others.
It's not my style to throw things at players or on the ice, but I'm still proud to be a Philadelphian.

I'm thinking I would much rather be hit with one of those cheap plastic Bracelets any day.
