We surveyed Task & Purpose readers to determine which Navy bases were the worst.
The U.S. Navy boasts more than 75 domestic bases. Though they are most always situated on the water, not all Navy bases have that oceanside charm. Task & Purpose polled more than 1,000 readers to determine which installations are least liked across all the services. The reasons why service members and their families hate housing seem infinite, whether it’s because the housing is trashy, schools are below par, or the weather is downright nasty,
Here are the five worst places to be stationed in the Navy.

My issues with commands has been with the chain of command and not location.

Lemoore sounds like paradise to be stationed at. The only down side I can see is it is in California.

It's in the middle of no where. Never stationed there, but I did visit a couple of time. The base seems like a ghost town. They are right about the smell, there is one big cow farm in the area and during the summer it is terrible.

Norfolk sucked with no car for sure. Traffic in/out of base was a nightmare! I lived in VA Beach so it was like living in the civilian world. Love to go back to see friends and would not live there. Lol

That's the truth Terry. I was on the GW in 1998 when she was in dry dock in Portsmouth. It was either the tunnel or a one lane bridge. The commute was horrible. Lots of history in the Hampton Roads area though and the beach.
