It took just one line to prove this person's agenda:
"US Constitution, considered by Identity Politics, the political ideology of the Democratic Party and the American liberal/progressive/left, to be a “racist document.”"

This is unmitigated horseshit!

This is no more than a right-wing slam against those on the left. Period!
By the way, no one is trying to "change" or "erase" our history. The statue issue is nothing more than an attempt to end the glorifying of individuals that took up arms against the USA.

SSG Diane R. - They were not acting in Jeffersonian Tradition. The Jeffersonian Tradition was to build a country, not tear it apart. Jefferson was, indeed, an anti-federalist, but he was also in favor of ratifying the Constitution. Lee and Jackson dedicated themselves to destroying it. Twist history however you want, there is no good reason for memorializing traitors.

Cynthia Croft - No, a fair solution would be to remove all memorials and statutes dedicated to the traitorous leadership of the Confederacy. I'm glad you can see my point, but I am disturbed you cannot agree with the notion that memorializing traitors and enemies is somehow a bad idea. I'm curious, what other traitors and enemies would you erect statues for?

Cynthia Croft - You put forth no solution. Removing statues dedicated to Union leaders does nothing to solve the problem. Removing statues dedicated to Confederate leaders is not the same as dismantling history, or erasing history, or unraveling a culture, or any other of those things. It is simply removing statues dedicated to enemies of the United States. The history will still be taught. The spaces where they once stood would not be devoid of historical context. By the way, we are not talking about statues at Federal Parks Like Gettysburg. They, and the parks, will remain intact. So the history is still being taught. I understand your point, you just don't want to defend the indefensible.

WOW! What a ridiculous article. with hardly a shred of truth anywhere in it. The fact that these stories exist only in the alt-right echo chamber makes them dubious, at best. It amazes me how those who claim "fake news" is every where are the same people who get sucked in by the fake news.

If the website on which the story appears is not an alt-right echo chamber, then "these stories" obviously do NOT "exist only in the alt-right echo chamber." Which means your opening post is a not-well-thought-out emotional rant.

SSgt Christopher Brose - Nice try, but you fail once again. The stories do not appear on this guys website. He merely mentions them. He then provides links to the echo chamber for you to read the stories. So, yes, even though they are mentioned by this idiot, they still only exist i the right wing echo chamber.

If you can't follow what you wrote through seven posts in a thread, you're not in a position to be telling others they failed.

SSgt Christopher Brose - Whatever. I know what I said. Only you seem to take issue with it. Maybe if someone else explained it to you.
