I guess I find it puzzling that we can mitigate a clearly racist sentiment with the idea that Rep Omar had a rough childhood. Were there Jewish folks in Somalia oppressing her? What exactly did the Palestinians' situation have to do with her in childhood, or when she grew up in Minnesota for that matter?
A sizeable number of her constituents are Jewish. I've seen stories here locally that they are none too pleased with Rep Omar right now.

It doesn't matter if the bigot has a D or and R, a Hijab or a yarmulke, is black or brown or Caucasian. Wrong is wrong. And this individual, who actually believes what she says, is wrong. MN 5 should remember that in 2020.
