I like this. Hopefully they graduate with more discipline as well because I have seen some pretty poor quality disciplined soldiers recently.

So they are basically moving training that was done in the units to OSUT to shorten the learning curve in the units. So that the Soldier leaves OSUT "deployment ready" I think that is unnecessary as well. Also, the extra training they are given is actually built into the design of the equipment. The ACOG sight, Iron Sights, NVG all seem pretty intuitive to me and designed for someone with zero training to use them out of the box. More fire and manuever training? Shouldn't that be covered by the pre-mob training the unit does before it is sent overseas?

I think this would have made a lot more sense if they were introducing new weapons to the Infantry during OSUT like say the Stinger Missile System...........to make them more lethal. To waste it on ancillary equipment I think isn't such a good idea.
