NO no no no
No matter the weapons system the fundamentals of marksmanship are don't change. Every single person who wears a uniform in the Armed Services needs to know how to pick up a weapon and accurately put it into action. I am not against new and cool technology, but there is no exception to putting your hands on it, loading it, finding a site picture and squeezing the trigger. So if shooting a weapon is a college class; putting your hands on a weapon and learning how to load, fire, reduce stoppage, get a site picture and breath control is shooting 101. That other stuff is cool to sit around and talk about over coffee. Just saying, but I am a knuckle dragging barbarian

In the Marine Corps we just shoot a lot, qualify every year and become proficient the old fashioned way. Live on technology, die on technology. The most dangerous weapon in the world, A Marine and his rifle.

Jeff, folks don't get it, another example is the GPS. People don't learn how to navigate with a GPS, nope you learn how to navigate with a map and compass.

SGT Matthew S. right? "You don't need to know how to use those iron sights. Just point and click."
