The Air Force is different. We have professional military education on each tier of enlisted. Airman Leadership School is geared towards E-4s getting ready to become E-5, SSgt. NCO Academy is the next level, geared towards E-6s (TSgt). Then there is Senior NCO Academy for those transitioning to the Senior NCO levels (E-7 and above). Air Force has been good at getting everyone their training when it's due. I just completed NCO Academy at JBSA-Lackland and it was good to learn some stuff and re-engage on other things.

The Air Force has always had more tech savvy programs. My brother served in the AF and was in Cryptography in Guam.

My brothers CO was a General. To this day he won't talk about what he did.

From my position it seems to be improving, less powerpoint slides, more hands on.

Great Point. Some Skill Sets you just can't get out of a Book.
