We're sure glad you were there in those days, I appreciated the B-52's flying over my house in the 60's from Anderson AFB going to Vietnam.
Brother In Law was stationed there in the 60's, now retired, living in Texas.

Loved flying from Anderson AFB, instant altitude when you got to end of the runway.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Yes, in the 60's I believe one B-52 went off the cliff. What bothered the airmen in the 60's was that Russian Trawler 3 miles off AAFB watching and reporting the B-52's.

SGT (Join to see) It was still around in the 70s when I flew out of there. Saw many heavily loaded B-52Ds sink down before they went up taking off from Anderson.

Watching those "old" B1's flying over my house, they don't seem to being too badly. Two flew off towards the Powder River range while another was doing "touch & go." (I think that's what you zoomies call it) :=)

I was shocked when I saw the notice for the 30th anniversary of the inaugural flight out at NG's Palmdale facility. Yes, makes me feel old too. My buddy's son is flying them now. B-1 readiness makes me sad too.

Readiness has always bee an issue with the B-1, heck we were grounded during Desert Storm.
