"On August 23, 1966, The Beatles were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with the double a sided 'Yellow Submarine - Eleanor Rigby'. The group's eleventh No.1. Paul McCartney said he came up with the name Eleanor from actress Eleanor Bron, who had starred with The Beatles in the film Help!. Rigby came from the name of a store in Bristol, Rigby & Evens Ltd, Wine & Spirit Shippers."

Could never get into the Beatles.. a friend tried to trick me and said we were going to see the “Big RED ONE”. They bought some tickets and went up the steps and I took a rightand went in to the Big Red One
Movie. And down to the middle of the theater.. I stayed and watched that movie, totally awesomeness !
We went later and got some pizza..
“So how’d you like Yellow Submarine?” I’d been busy working on the pizza and turned and said great, that part where they’re down in the Trench ... whoops!” “ you ninny, you screwed up their headcount.!” He said.. “stuff happens, Same price!” I replied..
He was upset.. I hadn’t wanted to see that movie anyway... “They stil got their $3, don’t fret it! And I grabbed another piece of pizza (my 2d)... I’d already put a couple bucks in the kitty .. He seemed out of sorts.. too fussy! We got some pop one time and I seen another I liked and on special... a bigger bottle and ..60 less .. his was 16 Oz and $1.65, mine was .20 Oz and .95... Faygo Rock n Rye... “ I think you should give me .40 ! “ “how you figure that ?” I sasked... “your pop was only .95 w .10 deposit and you had 4 more Oz!” “Gee, talk about petty!... who drove us all over, eh?”... so I reached over and picked a chocolate chip cookie package off the shelf ... and handed it to him.. It was .45 “ he looked at it and at me.. “you being caustic!” He said... “No... just sarcastic !”... and we both laughed..
We went with dates another time to a drive-in theater... this was awhile back !
.... Remembef the movie, “Spencer’s Mountain?” About the tree cane down on Grandpa Spencer... the quarry.. .. Maybe LTC Stephen Ford is kind of young to remember it..(Ha-Ha-ha!).. I brought along smoked Ham n cheese sandwiches and a bag of chips and a. Cooler bag of can pop.. (I iced it and sprinkle a some kosher salt,.. gets really cold like the Bering sea almost). I’m not paying $3.50 for a pencil thin lukewarm hot dog on a stale bun and s watery soda pop and crushed chips.. I had brought enough sandwiches n pop n chips to go around.. He hadn’t gone to the
Stand to get ripped yet.. finally he succumbed after sniffing that
Stacked ham n cheese on onion bread... chips were pretty fresh too.. done in the oven.. a little garlic, parmegiano Romano fresh fine grated.. used a small foil cake pan to bring them hot.. I figure you’re gonna bring food like that, do it right ! we got all them people staring and licking their chops... The 2d movie was about done(Hang ‘em High). And we headed out of there... the true blue stayed to the end... I am too but not that night !... we were about the 15th or so car out the exit..
only about 3 or 4 miles and we were about home... The nice part was he came to my house.. So i was Home... I dropped her off at her home already.. Lights on all over..
I thought our night out was inexpensive.; $2 to get in, ham n cheese sandwiches $2 or so, hot homemade chips $1.50. Pops $2...
$1.00 worth of gas... good night!
