Sir,
Would you be so kind as expanding your thoughts on the Turks. I read the article. It does not explain this.
Did ISIS turn down a deal to accept Turkish Caliph rule?

There seems to be no overall commander of the forces against IS and time allows IS to sew distrust between the factions fighting. They win this round if any of those forces start fighting each other instead of fighting IS. Its a very real danger, and IS will likely be trying to get the Shia militias to over react and in doing so gain the recruiting edge across the Sunni population of Iraq for the war after Mosul falls and for operations in the rear areas.

Lastly - the US effort is force focused on the Kurds - who are on the east side of the river... the Iranian effort is with the militias to the west of Mosul.... so C2 of all forces west of river will be very political...

LTC Eric Udouj - Your posts have been enlightening Sir. I appreciate that.
Why don't we just contact the former Saddam Generals leading the failed Sunni Caliphate and give them a deal? If they are smart enough to fight against a much larger force, they might agree to surrender. Unless, these (whatever their names are) Generals are fighting to the death.
Have a great day Sir. The new POTS will be sworn in.
