Interesting total look at the operation and the issues for both sides now. Did not see in the media the counterattack that occurred on the 4th....and that the Iraqi Army fought to a halt. The item in it that stood out was a line looking at what IS may still do. "ISIS may also refocus its efforts on re-establishing attack and support zones in recaptured parts of the country." That translates to striking the long supply lines.... which they really have yet to do.

The most critical aspect of the fight comes when the street by street and house by house fight really gets underway and that the Coalition and Iraqi/Iranian forces hold and do not collapse into infighting as heavy casualties occur. The weaknesses of the attacking force is at its seams and its rear... and psychologically. Perhaps politically as well - being that is critical as well in keeping those fighting against IS from attacking each other.
