I expect that your resilience in the face of unexpected trials and testing has grown significantly since your personal salvation. I hope that you are calm in unexpected situations and help others to calm down and remain calm in stressful circumstances. No doubt your well-tested character, reliable nature, and noble aspirations inspires those who rely on you for leadership, advice and friendship. Hopefully you are able to leverage change to benefit your organizational duties and responsibilities. When we face unexpected challenges, it is wise to seek the LORD’s guidance. As mature believers, we understand that oftentimes the trials and testing seasons we face are for the benefit of others as well as ourselves. 'Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.’ [James 1:12 ESV] my brother-in-Christ SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.

I pray for wisdom in preparation, spontaneity, joy in serving others and sufficient fruit of the Holy Spirit peace, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control for each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. YOU admonish us to be trustworthy, honest in transactions, truthful in speech and communication, and to treat each person with respect. I pray that the heart/soul is sensitive to YOU Holy Spirit. Enable us to be quick to respond to YOUR promptings as YOU guide us each day. ‘And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.” [Mark 4:24-25 ESV]
I lift those going through unexpected challenges to YOU LORD. I thank YOU for preparing each of us as YOU use testing to burn off the dross from our character and firm us up. I hope that each of us are thankful for all YOU do for us including the good and the bad. YOU shape our character through challenges and trials. Enable us to learn quickly the lessons we need to learn for ourselves. Empower us to share what we have learned to bless other individuals. ‘Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.’ [Romans 5:3-5 ESV]
I pray for wisdom, discernment and security for each US citizen still in Afghanistan including any service members captured by the Taliban. LORD I lift those clinging to hope for family, friends, and Afghanis who supported the US and allied forces. pray that YOU provide comfort and a large measure of hope and love to each one tonight. I pray that YOU guide trustworthy individuals to encourage and comfort and prayer warriors to intercede for each one. ‘So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.’ [Philippians 2:1-4 ESV]
I pray that YOU enable and guide most of the surviving Afghanis who assisted the allies to find safe havens with trustworthy contacts. Hopefully many of the Afghanis are succeeding in making their way to the northern areas under control of the stronghold of resistance commander Ahmadin Massoud in Panjshir province. ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.’ [Psalm 23:4-5 ESV]
I pray that YOU bless those too timid and fearful, who have minimal hope, with desires YOU shall fulfill and a vision to guide them to personal victory. Give each of us clarity of purpose and focus in our daily walk of faith for each one of us LORD YOU alone know what the future holds for each of in this life. ‘Where there is no prophetic vision, the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law’ [Proverbs 29:18 ESV]. I pray that YOU bless the abused and fearful with boldness to face their fears and abusers. The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.’ Proverbs 28:1 ESV]
The LORD admonishes each of us that humility and service to others is the higher level of human excellence patiently.
c. ‘rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free.’ [Ephesians 6:7-8 ESV]
d. ‘but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint. [Isaiah 40:31 ESV].
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Monday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Tuesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

So true, although some experiences have been rough. Those times in retrospect were the most valuable. Often I learned that perseverance can get you through. I also learned to reevaluate as I go, and be open to other ideas. Many times I did what was right, if not popular. It has cost me jobs and status. That is acceptable to me. Pride and honor are more valuable than material things.

“Welcome to the new week and let’s grow some new goals and seize some new opportunities this week. Why Not?

If you’re not growing, you surely aren’t going. You don’t have to do it alone. There are friends and family that can help you grow in many ways. Every day you wake up there is something new to be learned, new experience, a new trial, or a new tribulation. That reminds me of this quote…

‘Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.’ — James Cash Penney

May you challenge your comfort zone and focus on your future by here and present today; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
