The "Colonel's" Motivational/Inspirational Quotes and Message of the Day!
Too many times we judge people by their cover and not what’s inside or below the surface. That leads me to this quote and something worth remembering before you judge anyone…
‘Don’t judge people. You never know what kind of battle they are fighting.” — Unknown Author
May you always really learn to know someone inside and out before judging them; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Wes King "Porch Sessions" Life Is Precious
Wes King continues his Living Room Sessions, or in this case "Porch Sessions" with his classic tune "Life Is Precious". July 2013
I pray for sound judgement, compassion, respect for each person, and supporting rights while fulfilling our responsibilities for each and every one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. Enable us to judge wisely whenever we are called upon to judge anything from food preparation to major project design. I pray that you bless each one with ears to hear YOU dear LORD. 'If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. [Mark 4:23-24 ESV]
LORD, I thank you for guiding each of us day-by-day and hour-by-hour and enabling us to focus on your priority for each of us. YOU admonish us that love abides love in us and we demonstrate our love for YOU by loving those you place us amidst. ‘Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. … So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. [ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; 13 ESV]
I lift those whose life is at risk to YOU LORD; those missing in action [MIA], POWs, the yet-to-be-born; US citizens still in Afghanistan, including the 27 students from San Juan Unified School District, prisoners of the Taliban; Christian Afghanis, Afghanis who materially assisted US and allied forces, young Afghanis who appreciate the relative freedom they have enjoyed; and future hostages to YOU, dear LORD. YOU are aware of all from the beginning of time to the end. I pray that YOU free most of the captives and any captive who dies is YOUR adopted child. ‘Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.’ [Proverbs 19:21 ESV]
I thank YOU LORD for the blessing of eternal salvation. I pray that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters are grateful to YOU for justifying each of us and having a personal relationship with us. You healed each of us from the judgement for sin. ‘Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.’ [Isaiah 1:18-19 ESV]
LORD, I thank YOU for pro-life executives, legislators and judges as well as intercessors and pro-life counselors. I pray that YOU bless those who support life from before birth throughout life and through death with endurances, grace and discernment. I am grateful that the US Supreme Court supported the Texas Heartbeat Bill which requires that if a fetal heartbeat is detected, no abortion can be performed. 'For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.' [Psalm 13913-14a ESV]
In this season where evil seems to be encroaching on the light and love of God, it is wise to remember that God is in complete control. HE permits evil to appear to flourish before judgement. ‘Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord. “BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.’ [Romans 12:19-21 ESV]
The LORD admonishes each of us to be careful in judgement
a. “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure, you use it will be measured back to you.” [Luke 6:37-38 ESV]
b. 'A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is his delight. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.’ [Proverbs 11:1-3 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Thursday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Friday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.
